We came to this little restaurant as a suggestion from the bartender at the Michael Collins Irish bar. He warned us many places would increase prices once they realized we were tourists, but that this was a family place with low prices and even better food. The restaurant is small/quiet but they have an extensive menu of Catalán dishes - including appetizers, small plates, seafood dishes, meat dishes, and very fresh desserts. My group had the sopa de pescaderia, jamon and tostadas, the sausage with patatas fritas, and chicken with mushrooms and potatoes. Everything was very delicious, perfect portions, and we had flan with nata (whipped cream) for dessert. We had stepped in during late dinner hours and the staff was very nice and attentive, even helping us with the menu as it was mostly in Catalán. Def would suggest to any tourist or local - we will be back again before our trip is over.
Stopped here for a substantial lunch around 3pm. We didn't need dinner later! This was a bustling place - families, businessmen. Waiters were really hustling about and service was very good. Our waiter suggested any of the grilled meats. I had rabbit (yes it does pretty much taste like chicken). Excellent flavor, tiny bit dry. Esposa had lamb chops - really great! Starters were really a highlight too- very refreshing gazpacho (in a creamy style). Mine was fava beans, cooked with jamon and excellent fennelly blood sausage. Total with four Alhambra beers was right at 40 Euros. We'll likely go back on the return leg of our trip.
Restaurante ideal para una comida catalana y carne a la brasa.
Precios muy ajustados, raciones generosas.
